It’s a fairly easy dump and eat salad with a little cooking involved. This recipe is for a large gathering or a small gathering of teenage boys. I present to you, taco salad! (Sorry. No pictures.)
What you’ll need:
3 lbs of ground beef
2 envelopes of taco seasoning
1/2 onion (diced)
Minced garlic (this you add with your heart)
1 can of diced tomatoes with chiles
2 bags of Nacho Doritos (Party Size)
1 16 oz pkg of finely shredded Mexican cheese
1 bag of shredded lettuce
2 16 oz bottles of Catalina salad dressing (I usually use 1 spicy/1 regular)
How to make:
In a saucepan, cook the ground beef. You’ll want to make the pieces bite size or smaller. While cooking the beef; add the onion, garlic, taco seasoning, and can of tomatoes. Let it simmer after the beef is cooked. Drain the grease if you want. Put meat mixture into a resealable plastic container. (You’ll want 4-6 qt size one) Right before serving; open the bags of Doritos, while holding the top closed, crush the chips inside the bag. Kids can help with this step. Then empty the bags into container. Next add the cheese and lettuce. Finally empty both bottles of salad dressing into the container and stir. Serve, eat and enjoy!
With it being prepared in the resealable container, if there is leftovers, they can go into the fridge to enjoy later. Another great thing about this recipe, you can add and subtract to your taste.
