Erasing of Personality

One of the reasons I love summer is car shows. I love the lines of the mid-1930s through the late 1950s cars. I love the raw power of the muscle cars. Somewhere along the line, the cars stopped being special. No more chrome. No more beautiful rounded lines. It’s hard to tell cars apart from yards away.

1936 Auburn

Look at this car! Anyone who knows antique cars can recognize this vehicle from a football field away. How many vehicles on the road today can you do that with?

I can remember not that long ago, fast food restaurants would be known for their outside facade. Now they all look so cookie cutter with the only differences on the outside being the accent color and name. The world is becoming too industrial. What happened to the creativity?

Nowadays, it seems all the creativity is manufactured. Nothing new, nothing real. If you go to TikTok, it seems at least 70% are stitches and challenges. Then, you have Hollywood going back to the 80s to remake movies & TV shows that were great back then but ruined by bending to today’s standards.

I saw a video of Vanilla Ice a few weeks ago talking about how pop culture pretty much died after the 90s. I have to agree. So many pioneers in music, movies, and TV. It seems now, everything has to follow a certain recipe. You have to a certain number of tokens in whatever you produce. Nothing organic in entertainment anymore. So sad.

My hope is that we wake up soon and start creating again. Break away from the sterilized thought bubbles we’re becoming. Creativity breeds ambition and desire. The world we currently live in needs that. What we have now is far too negative. Break away from your norm and try something a little different. Change perspective for 5 minutes. Bring back and be spark that the universe needs you to have.
